Management Seminar coming to Brookings
The Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce & Convention Bureau and Glenn Shepard Seminars have joined forced to bring a fantastic educational seminar on “How to Supervise People and Lead a Team” to Brookings on Monday, August 29 from 8:30am – 12:00pm at the Swiftel Center.
Managing in today’s business world is complex, ever changing and wrought with serious consequences when you make even the tiniest mistake. Businesses can find themselves being sued just for asking the wrong question in an interview, firing an employee who deserved to be fired, looking at and employee the wrong way, or for not hiring someone who wanted the job, even though they weren’t qualified. How does a manager learn to avoid pitfalls like these?
For years managers have been looking for one seminar that covers the basic, hands on real life principles in all those areas with no fluff or classroom theory. In just one short day, attendees will learn how to handle the unpleasant aspects of management including supervising problem employees, disciplining employees, firing employees, and how to avoid legal pitfalls.
Glenn’s continuing education and professional development programs are accredited by SHRM’s HRCI for PHR, GPHR, and SPHR credit as well as through multiple state agencies for CPE/CEU credit for licensed professional including healthcare, law enforcement, accounting and numerous others. This program has been approved for 3.75 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
Mr. Shepard will have several giveaway at the event, including autographed copies of his latest book with Stephen Covey and Brian Tracy. He will also be available after the program to answer any questions that you may have.
General Admission is $149 (early bird registration $129 before August 26th). Group rate available: Register 3 and the 4th is free. Chamber Members may attend this event for $129.
